A tragic accident occurred on Monday evening in North Bethesda, where a 76-year-old woman from Potomac lost her life after crashing her SUV into a cable barrier at a parking garage entrance.

Marjorie Rothschild was pronounced dead at the scene following the incident, which took place around 5:31 p.m. in the 11300 block of Woodglen Drive, according to Montgomery County Police.

Rothschild was driving a Toyota RAV4 at the time of the crash. A male passenger in the vehicle suffered serious injuries, although they were not deemed life-threatening.

The police department has stated that the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing and may take several months to conclude.
