BALTIMORE — The Baltimore Police Department has released body camera footage from a police-involved shooting that occurred last week in Southwest Baltimore.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of Wilkens and S. Caton Avenues, situated near St. Agnes Hospital, following reports of an individual threatening self-harm.

Upon their arrival, officers Sharod Watson and Mark Rankine encountered gunfire. The video reveals that the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Louis Jackson, approached the officers while brandishing a firearm.

Despite repeated commands from the officers instructing him to lie down, Jackson did not comply. The situation escalated into a brief exchange of gunfire, during which Jackson was shot and ultimately died from his injuries.
