Chesapeake Beach Man Arrested for Child Pornography and Bestiality Charges

A man from Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, has been charged with multiple felonies following an incident at Washington Dulles International Airport.

Matthew Hunter Stewart, 28, was apprehended on June 21 after arriving on a flight from Keflavik, Iceland. Upon his arrival, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers referred him for a secondary inspection.

During this inspection, which included a search of Stewart's baggage, officers examined his electronic devices, including a cellphone. Reports indicate that they discovered child sexual abuse material and bestiality content on his phone.

Following the findings, CBP officers transferred Stewart to the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) Police for further action.

Christine Waugh, the CBP Area Port Director for Washington, D.C., emphasized the agency's commitment to collaborating with partners to identify individuals in possession of child sexual abuse materials, stating, "Customs and Border Protection officers are committed to working with our partners to identify travelers in possession of child sexual abuse materials and hold them accountable for perpetuating this reprehensible victimization of children."

Stewart is facing serious charges, including one count each of possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation, and facilitation of child pornography, as well as possession of bestiality material.
