Baltimore City Council President Nick Mosby took the stand on Thursday as a defense witness in the mortgage fraud trial involving his ex-wife, Marilyn Mosby. During his testimony, he revealed that he managed their tax affairs, which led to significant tax liabilities.
Nick Mosby stated that he incurred debts totaling tens of thousands of dollars and had entered into multiple payment plans with the Internal Revenue Service without Marilyn Mosby's knowledge. This admission was made during questioning by Federal Public Defender James Wyda, one of the attorneys representing Marilyn Mosby.
When asked if he regretted the tax issues he caused, Nick Mosby expressed deep remorse, saying, “Tremendously.” He acknowledged that his mismanagement of their tax situation was a contributing factor to the current legal proceedings.
