A 3-year-old girl has died following a collision with a vehicle driven by a 14-year-old boy in Baltimore on Saturday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 1 p.m. in the 1800 block of West Pratt Street, located in the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood. According to the Baltimore Police Department, officers arrived at the scene to find the girl suffering from severe injuries.

Emergency responders transported her to a local hospital, where she unfortunately succumbed to her injuries.

Initial reports indicate that the driver fled the scene of the crash. However, police were able to share a description of the vehicle with other officers, leading to its eventual recovery.

Authorities confirmed that the vehicle involved in the incident had been reported stolen by a family member shortly before the accident took place.

The 14-year-old driver was subsequently detained, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
