Baltimore City experienced a small uptick in homicides in June, with the total rising to seven incidents compared to six in May. This represents a 17% increase month-over-month. Conversely, the number of non-fatal shootings remained stable at 26 incidents for both months.

One notable homicide occurred on June 10 when officers from the Western District responded to a shooting on the 1800 block of N. Payson Street. At the scene, they found three individuals, including a woman and two men, suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, 22-year-old Rashad Howell succumbed to his injuries, while the other two victims received emergency medical care.

Another homicide case involved a stabbing on June 20. Fifty-six-year-old Shonda Singleton was discovered critically injured inside a residence in East Baltimore. Responding officers arrived shortly after 1:40 p.m. following reports of the attack. Singleton was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Police apprehended 50-year-old Toi Stukes on June 26, charging him with first-degree murder in connection with Singleton's death.

In terms of non-fatal shootings, the city recorded 26 incidents in June, matching the figure from May. One incident occurred on June 11, when officers found a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound on the 2400 block of Jefferson Street. Fortunately, he was transported to a hospital and survived his injuries.

Another shooting took place on June 26, when a 47-year-old man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Investigations revealed he had been shot on the 2900 block of Edgecomb Circle North, with his injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
