MT. AIRY, Md. — An early morning collision involving three vehicles has resulted in significant traffic disruptions on Interstate 70.
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) reported that the crash occurred shortly after 2 a.m. on Wednesday, leading to the complete closure of all eastbound lanes.
In addition to the eastbound lane closures, the left lane and shoulder of the westbound side are also blocked. Motorists heading east are currently only able to navigate through the area using the shoulder, specifically between Ridge Road and Woodbine Road.
Traffic reporter Kristy Breslin from Good Morning Maryland has advised drivers to consider using Baltimore National Pike as an alternate route to avoid the area. Updates on the situation can be followed on her social media platforms.
