Teen Arrested Following Gunfire Incident in Fells Point

Baltimore police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in connection with gunfire that erupted in Fells Point early Saturday morning.

Officers from the Entertainment District were dispatched to the area around 12:15 a.m. after reports of gunfire in the southeast neighborhood. Upon arrival, they observed an individual fleeing from the 600 block of South Broadway.

Police pursued the suspect and successfully apprehended him, during which a handgun was recovered. Additionally, a 19-year-old man was taken into custody for questioning related to the incident.

Authorities confirmed that while evidence of gunfire was found, there were no reported injuries. Multiple cartridge casings were located at the intersection of South Broadway and Fleet Street, with some lodged between the bricks of the sidewalk. Crime lab technicians marked at least two dozen casings for further investigation.

At least one parked vehicle in the 1700 block of Fleet Street sustained damage from the gunfire. This incident marks the second occurrence of gunfire in Fells Point during the early hours of Saturday morning within the past week. On June 13, a 31-year-old man was shot in the 400 block of South Broadway shortly before 2:30 a.m., resulting in damage to both an apartment and a commercial building.

Central District detectives are currently investigating the latest incident.
