BALTIMORE — A three-year-old girl was tragically killed on Saturday afternoon in southwest Baltimore after being struck by a vehicle driven by a teenager.

The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the 1800 block of W. Pratt Street, located in the Carrollton Ridge neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered the young girl suffering from severe injuries.

Emergency responders transported her to a nearby hospital; however, she later succumbed to her injuries.

According to police, the vehicle involved in the accident fled the scene. Authorities quickly issued a description of the car to assist in locating it.

Shortly thereafter, officers located the vehicle and apprehended the driver, a 14-year-old boy. Investigators determined that the car had been reported stolen by a family member just prior to the incident.

The Baltimore Police Department's Crash Team is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. They are urging anyone with additional information to reach out at 410-396-2606 or call 911.
