Three Men Identified in Bowie Plane Crash Tragedy

Maryland State Police have released the identities of three men who tragically lost their lives in a plane crash in Bowie late Saturday night.

The victims are 26-year-old Yoav Bomrind, 19-year-old David Rabinovitz, and 20-year-old Elad Neidik. They were aboard a single-engine Piper Cherokee that had taken off from Ocean City, New Jersey, with a destination of Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg.

The aircraft went down shortly before midnight in a densely wooded area, remarkably close to a playground and a residential townhome complex. The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by both the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

According to aircraft registries, the Piper Cherokee was owned by the Washington International Flight Academy. A representative from the academy declined to comment on the incident.

Elena Russo, a spokesperson for the Maryland State Police, confirmed that the men were engaged in a training flight at the time of the accident. However, details surrounding the late departure and the events leading to the crash remain unclear.

Flight data indicates that the aircraft had completed several training flights at the Gaithersburg airport within the week, with each flight lasting approximately one hour.
