Four individuals, comprising two adults and two children, were hospitalized following a boat fire that occurred in the Patapsco River near Pasadena.
The incident was reported shortly before noon on Friday, according to Steven Bishop, a spokesperson for the Anne Arundel County Fire Department. A charter vessel in the vicinity provided assistance by towing the burning boat to safety at a marina located in the 2000 block of Knollview Drive.
All four victims were transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital for medical care. Reports indicate that at least one adult and one child sustained burns; however, all individuals are currently in stable condition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with no immediate details available.
Online videos captured the scene, showing a significant column of black smoke rising from the boat while it was situated in the water, away from the shoreline.
