Motorcyclist Dies in Collision with Bus on Route 32 in Columbia

COLUMBIA, Md. — Authorities are investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Route 32 involving a motorcycle and a bus.

The incident took place at approximately 10:39 PM on Wednesday, between Route 29 and Shaker Drive. According to police reports, the motorcycle, a Suzuki GSX1300, was attempting to overtake a Howard County Regional Transportation bus when the rider lost control.

The motorcycle collided with the side of the bus, leading to the rider’s death at the scene. The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.

At the time of the crash, the bus was occupied only by its driver, who was unharmed and remained at the location to assist authorities.

Following the accident, that section of Route 32 was closed for over four hours as investigators worked at the scene. The road has since been reopened to traffic.
